A studio-based taught postgraduate programme that critically engages with contemporary art practice and professional development.

The MA Fine Art course offers a high-calibre postgraduate experience through rigorous debate and interaction with academics, artists, curators, theorists and fellow students. Reflective practice through theoretical discourse, critical enquiry and multi-disciplinary art practices, set within regional, national and international contexts, is essential to the teaching and learning approach of this programme.

The programme involves placing the students at the heart of a rising contemporary art community in the city of Lincoln and surrounding region. Students will experience and contribute to peer-learning through the development of a stimulating and critically challenging environment. This will occur within the School as well as the vibrant cultural community of major public galleries; and artist organised projects, galleries and spaces in Lincoln and beyond. Where appropriate medium specific specialist themes are available which aim to support Fine Art practitioners who intend to focus upon advancing their material craft and practice.

The programme is designed to support your studies and to enable you to strengthen your position as an artist. At the end of every study year there is an MA Fine Art professionally presented exhibition or equivalent other event.
