Students and staff from the MA courses had an insightful day long workshop ‘Method and Mayhem of Archival Adventures’, with Monica Narula from Raqs Media Collective. The workshop centred around the processes and procedures that can make archives of all kinds yield materials for artistic transformation. The day included a visit to MACE (The Media Archive of Central England) and a reading group session using a text written by Raqs Media Collective.

MA Fine Art student, Elizabeth Wright said of the day: “Taking part in the workshop day with Raqs Media Collective member Monica Narula was inspiring, illuminating and affirming.
To hear the thoughts of someone who is immersed in their practice with sincerity and commitment and longevity is inspiring.
The nature of the practice and its involvement within education and the everyday, affirming and the work produced through cooperative, collaborative and humble investigations into what went before, and what it means to be in the present illuminating. A day of making connections and navigating ideas through discussion and considerations.”
